Twisty Tours

Get to know some new roads!

You have found us!

Now let's go ride together and find some of the best roads in the world, right here in the Pacific Northwest. Twisty Tours are designed to take you on rides like you've never done before, and introduce you to roads you'll never forget. In order to do that I have to get to know you a little bit, and build a tour just for your group. That also means I don't do all 200-mile day tours... many rides are less, many average over 400! I do, however, encourage the use of roads with turns in them.

For over 20 years I've been putting together professional events and catering to VIP groups. For over 16 years I've been riding specifically here in the Pacific Northwest. For over 8 years I've owned my own business. For my whole life I've loved to connect people with unforgettable experiences, and what could be better than a motorcycle trip through some of the best roads anywhere in the world? Let's get one set up specifically for how you like to ride.

I'm Canon Snyder, and I have earned my excellent reputation by delivering personal, professional, customized service. Every time. Guaranteed.

Twisty Tours is designed for you and your group.

One of the beautiful things about motorcycles is that hardly any two are truly alike. Grips, pegs, seats, brakes, suspension, tires, luggage, fairings, lighting... we could go on and on about the myriad ways both big and small that each rider takes time to set their bike up specifically and uniquely to their own preferences... but let's not. Instead let's understand that people are not all the same, and motorcycles are one of the best ways to express that uniqueness.

Similarly, one kind of riding will not fit every riding group.

Most of the tours I lead are created with a specific group of riders, motorcycles, and preferences in mind. Maybe you're a group of 5 sport bikes accustomed to 400 mile days, or maybe you're a group of 8 cruisers riding 2-up on your first week-long ride... The same route would never suit both groups, and you shouldn't be asked to pack into the other groups' needs. Let's get a tour put together just for you.

Twisty Tours is designed for people who just want to ride.

Not everyone is going to have a group already assembled and ready to ride. That's okay. We run a match-making service designed to introduce you to a particular stretch of asphalt that you can love, cherish, and take your parents to meet someday. You cannot marry a road in the US, but you can adopt a highway...

We do several pre-made rides each year designed for solo riders to join. These rides can have some flexibility and options, but will largely have a dedicated route and duration plan already decided. These tours start as simple as a day ride at easy pace, and progress up to week-long 2500-mile quests. Any rider is welcome to join any of these rides, but please carefully read the tour plan before doing so as you are responsible for the suitability of your machine and riding style to the planned tour.

Twisty Tours is designed for experienced riders.

You have most likely spent years learning what you like and don't, what you want to ride and what you don't, and getting your bike(s) set up exactly how you like them. Awesome! Hopefully you've also discovered that a road with corners is perferable to one without.

I'm here to put together a riding trip you'll love. I believe that is only accomplished on a bike you enjoy, and therefore best to do on your own bike... but that is not always possible.

There are endless reasons to need a borrowed bike, but it is foolish to think that any one bike is the right one for every rider I'll meet along my way. Therefore, if you need to rent a motorcycle, I will gladly help connect you with the best machine for you for the particular tour we are planning, rather than offer you the one bike I have pre-assumed upon you.

The goal, really, is to ride through some of God's best country, connect with your machine and the world around you in a wholly enjoyable experience, and find good moments every step of the way. Something as trivial as pegs that don't match well with your boots can greatly affect your experience. It is my hope to avoid as many distractions as possible by encouraging you to ride your own ride whenever possible, or rent the correct bike if you need one.

We are blessed here in the Pacific Northwest to have several options for motorcycle rentals. You can find serveral styles of Harley-Davidson, plentiful BMW models, Triumph, Suzuki, Ducati, Kawasaki, Goldwing, dual-sport, nakeds, bikes equipped for trails or trailers. I will gladly help connect you to good resources, and can often change the planned route to start and end near the guest with the toughest schedule.

It can also be reasonable to have your own bike meet you here, customized exactly the way you have done it yourself.

Let's get you set up right!

Twisty Tour Calendar

Following is a list of tours we are currently planning.

If a tour is marked as flexible then the route could still be edited, may be joined by more riders, and is still available to be booked out for a custom tour.

If a tour is marked as fixed then the route has been solidified, the dates locked in, and it may still be joined by more riders.

If a tour is marked as locked then it is both fixed and full; there is no more room for more riders to join.

Most often riders looking to join a pre-made tour are best served to ride with other similar riders. In that vein I have separated the rides by style of ride or rider. This is just a sorting method! There are no hard rules that you must fit the description to ride, unless specifically stated in the tour requirements. I usually ride a Triumph Speed Triple, which doesn't really fit any category!

All of our rides require:

Legal motorcycle licence for all pilots.
Legal motorcycle gear for all pilots and passengers.
Motorcycle in good, safe, and non-hazardous working order.
Factory toolkit (or better). All personal needs handled.
Appropriate conduct and teamwork attitude at all times.

Learning Tours

Intended for those who need a little help or guidance, would like feedback and experience to become more comfortable and capable on their motorcycle, or simply don't want to worry about tight turns and technical roads. Maybe you're a new rider, have a new bike, or are learning to carry (or be) a passenger. These rides generally ARE weather-dependent.
Requirements: Good attitudes, leave your ego at home.

It's Valentine's Day. A lover might not be available, but maybe a motorcycle ride is.

Cruising Tours

H-D, American, Metric, Baggers, Easy Riders... Any motorcycle is welcome, but the usual suspects have chrome easily visible from all sides. I assume you are comfortable and competent with your machine already, might be riding 2-up, and like to feel the wind in your face. Let's lay down some miles.
Requirements: 100-mile fuel range, freeway speeds, money for fill-ups and food stops if applicable.

April 1 - April 3 - 3 day - Washington, West half and Peninsula. - fixed

Cost: $1,500 - 2,500
Start: 10am @ Harley-Davidson, Lynnwood.
End: 4pm @ Harley-Davidson, Lynnwood.
We will touch the Columbia River, Pacific Ocean, and peaks of the Cascades.

Sportbike Tours

No, these are not trackdays, but these bikes are capable enough. Review the route ahead of time; sometimes higher-than-average mileage is required to complete these rides in the alloted times. If you drag your heel before you drag your toe then you might want to reconsider these rides.
Requirements: Must be comfortable and capable at freeway speeds, and be willing to let faster riders ride off rather than ride above your ability. Please wear all appropriate gear.

July 15 - 1 day - N. Cascades Loop. - fixed

Cost: $100
Start: 8am @ Triumph of Seattle.
End: 6pm @ Triumph of Seattle.
We will ride the 440-mile N. Cascades Loop stopping only for gas and 1 meal.

Epic Tours

These are special-case tours. If one of these rides sounds like something you would like to do, please get in touch with me and let's talk about whether or not it's a good fit. These rides usually require a meet-up before we start to get communicators and cameras installed, and thoroughly inspect our bikes.
Requirements: Personal conversation with me.

Day 1 - Day 120 - 4 months - N.America - flexible

Cost: $19,000 - 45,000
Start: 8am @ 13 Coins, SeaTac.
End: 8pm @ Butt-Replacement Clinic, Painville.

End: 6pm @ Brown Bear, Lynnwood.
We will ride over 2,000 miles in 5 days, hitting a dozens of "must see" roads, and very little freeway.

Adventure / Sport-Tourers

Let's be honest: you can go anywhere, do anything, and jump in on any kind of ride there is. Rock on. Come on any ride you want (pending space and ride requirements).

Twisty Tours is owned and operated by Canon Snyder.

I learned to ride in 1997 on my dad's Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide on the hills above Golden Gardens, Seattle. Maybe that's why I've always liked roads where I can perpetually see the next turn?

I bought my first bike, a 1983 KZ1100, the next year while living in Idaho. That bike carried me, and often a passenger, 40,000 miles across every part of the Pacific Northwest before it was done.

I then bought and heavily customized an Intruder 1400, and put 40,000 miles on it as well. Next came a week on a TL1000 and I was forever changed. I tried sport bikes, BMWs, a Ducati Monster in Ireland, an SV roundy and an SV1000, and picked a Triumph Speed Triple 1050 for my next 40,000 miles (seems to be about how long a bike stays with me!). Now I'm on a KTM SuperDuke, and as "non-touring" of a bike as this is, I've already ridden it to Alaska and back, and been on the track with it a few days later; I think I'll have this one for a while. :)

After close to 150,000 motorcycle miles, and 30 years on two wheels, I've learned that very few bikes are unenjoyable. Every bike has its own temperament and skill set, and none like to be forced. Take the time to learn about each other and you'll get along just fine with your motorcycle. One of my favorite traits of twistys is how much RIDING you get to do, how much you get to CONNECT with your machine and environment, how many GOOD MOMENTS you find, rather than simply sitting in the wind. I believe you have more energy, more life, and are more at ease after 10 hours spent winding through nature's playgrounds rather than 6 hours on a slab.

At home I'm a proud girl-dad of two absolute rockstars. They remind me to keep safety a high priority, without losing out on the fun.
